EXPERIMENTAL / PERSONAL R&D PROJECT

GridPhase / GridPulse

Exploring GNSS-synchronized measurement of power-grid phase and frequency.

GridPhase is an experimental engineering project rather than a primary commercial Kostet product. It started as a practical investigation into whether geographically distributed, accurately synchronized mains measurements can reveal useful information about grid behaviour and power transfer.

The project uses GNSS-referenced nodes to timestamp mains zero crossings and sends raw observations to a central system for phase, frequency, visualization and experimental analysis. It also provides a useful testbed for timing, distributed sensing and data-analysis techniques that are relevant to other engineering work.

What is being explored

Public Looking Glass

A read-only public view of selected GridPhase frequency and phase data is available at lookingglass.kostet.se ↗.

Interested in the experiment?

GridPhase is presented here as an R&D project. If the underlying measurement, synchronization or distributed-sensing techniques are relevant to an engineering problem, Kostet can discuss them in that context.
