KOSTET SYSTEM / REMOTE SUPERVISION & RECOVERY
Multi Watchdog
Network, power, temperature and remote recovery supervision for unattended or difficult-to-access technical installations.
More than fault detection
A remote watchdog is most useful when it can distinguish a transient problem from a genuine equipment failure and then respond in a controlled way. Multi Watchdog is designed around explicit states, configurable delays and deterministic recovery actions rather than simplistic immediate reboot logic.
The system can be used purely for observation, or selected channels can be associated with relay-controlled recovery. This makes it possible to supervise more equipment than the system directly controls while limiting automatic power actions to devices where recovery is appropriate.
Network supervision
Monitor configured hosts or IP endpoints, log state changes and optionally initiate controlled recovery after repeated failures. Up to eight relay-capable monitored channels and eight additional monitoring-only channels are supported.
Relay control & recovery
Eight independent relay-capable channels support automatic recovery or direct operator control. Recovery timing is configurable and can be inhibited when a local network-link fault makes equipment cycling inappropriate.
Voltage & battery supervision
Four analog voltage channels provide calibration, upper/lower thresholds, delay handling and relay override rules. A dedicated battery view can present chemistry/cell configuration, state-of-charge indication and a 48-hour trend.
Temperature supervision
Up to four temperature channels can be named and monitored with configurable thresholds, reporting and heating/cooling relay associations.
Controlled recovery instead of blind rebooting
A watchdog should not create a second fault while trying to solve the first. Multi Watchdog therefore combines monitoring with context-aware inhibition, timers and operator visibility.
- Startup hold-off: avoids recovery decisions while infrastructure and monitored equipment are still starting.
- Repeated-failure decision: recovery can require sustained non-response rather than one missed check.
- Local-link-aware suppression: automatic recovery can be inhibited when the local network link itself is down.
- Voltage override: abnormal supply voltage can force selected loads off until recovery criteria are met.
- Temperature action: thresholds can drive heating or cooling control outputs.
Browser-based operation
Routine operation and configuration are performed through the integrated web interface. It provides a single operational view of relay and network state, voltage and battery conditions, temperature, event history, system settings and maintenance functions.
Operational visibility
Live network, relay, recovery, voltage and temperature status is presented with meaningful labels so operators do not have to remember channel numbers.
Event history & notifications
State changes and recovery actions can be recorded in the event log, while selected events can generate email notifications for remote maintenance.
Serial interfaces
RS232 and RS485 interface settings are managed from the system and applied in a controlled manner.
Maintenance workflow
File management, configuration status and validated software upgrade functions are integrated into the browser-managed system.
Typical applications
Multi Watchdog is deliberately general-purpose. It can be configured for remote communications sites, routers and radio equipment, battery-backed systems, technical shelters and cabinets, laboratory/test installations, distributed infrastructure and custom project/OEM integration.
